Sporty Ghana is built on community contributions. We welcome Ghanaian writers and sports fans to share their stories. Writing for us lets you reach thousands of readers in Ghana and Africa, and shape the sports conversation.

What We Publish

We publish original articles that fit our sports and lifestyle focus. This includes:

  • Game and match reports (local leagues, international games).
  • Athlete and coach interviews or profiles.
  • Sports analysis and opinion pieces (team strategies, tournament reviews).
  • Sports culture and fan stories (fan traditions, community events).
  • Lifestyle articles related to sports (fitness tips, healthy recipes, training advice).

Submission Guidelines

  • Your work must be original and not published elsewhere.
  • Article length: Aim for 800-1200 words (quality matters more than exact count).
  • Write in clear, active voice and Ghanaian English. Avoid slang and jargon.
  • No plagiarism. Cite any sources or quotes properly. Use clear language and correct spelling.
  • Proofread your article for grammar and style.

Editorial Standards

We strive for high-quality, trustworthy content. Our editors check for accuracy and fairness. We expect contributors to verify facts, cite sources, and write respectfully. Keep a calm tone and avoid hype or overly salesy language.

Image Policy

If you include images, they must be free to use (your own photos, Creative Commons, or public domain) and properly credited. Do not submit images you do not have rights to. Provide credit for any image.

Compensation & Rights

This is a volunteer opportunity: we do not offer payment. Contributors are credited by name. By submitting, you grant Sporty Ghana a license to publish your article. You retain ownership of your writing. We reserve the right to edit and promote your content.

Pitch Template

To pitch an idea, use a clear format. For example:

 Subject: Story Pitch: [Article Title]

Hello, I am [Your Name]. I propose an article titled "[Article Title]" covering [brief topic summary]. It will be about [word count] words. I can submit a draft by [date]. Thank you for your consideration.

Response Time

We aim to respond to pitches within 1-2 weeks. If accepted, we will work with you on edits. You may send a polite follow-up if you do not hear back after two weeks.
