Carlos Queiroz says Ghana have 22 players ready for Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against The Gambia, while Ronald Donkor remains the only player whose availability is still uncertain.
The Black Stars will face The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium as they try to recover from their 2-0 loss to Ivory Coast in their opening Group C match in Bouake last Thursday. The game will begin at 16:00 GMT.
Queiroz gave an update on the squad after Monday’s training session and said most of his players are fit and ready for the important match.
“We just finished the training session. I can announce that we have 22 players ready to play tomorrow,” Queiroz told reporters.
Donkor is the only player still facing an injury concern after being limited to light training. The midfielder will be checked again before the match to decide if he can play any part in the game.
“The only player still in doubt is Ronald Donkor. He had a light training session today, and hopefully he’ll be on the bench for tomorrow’s game,” he said.
“Otherwise, the others trained normally and are in great condition and shape. We are ready for the game tomorrow.”
Ghana will still be missing defender Alexander Djiku, who has been ruled out after suffering an injury during the defeat to Ivory Coast.
The Black Stars are currently at the bottom of Group C and need their first points of the qualifying campaign. They are also trying to secure a return to the Africa Cup of Nations after missing the previous tournament in Morocco….CONTINUE MORE SPORTS>>>
