World Cup visa scandal: February 5 email copied to Sports Ministry pops up
Old Tafo MP Vincent Ekow Assafuah has questioned Sports Minister Kofi Adams’ account of when he first learned about Tribe Culture First’s involvement in Ghana’s World Cup visa arrangements.
Assafuah referred to an email dated February 5, 2026, which he said was sent by the US Embassy to invite stakeholders to a third meeting on preparations for the FIFA World Cup.
According to the MP, the email was copied to officials from the Ministry of Sports, the National Sports Authority (NSA), the Ghana Tourism Authority, the Canadian High Commission, the US Embassy and Tribe Culture First.
He also drew attention to a reference in the message to an earlier stakeholder meeting held on October 22, 2025.
Assafuah argued that the correspondence indicated that discussions involving Tribe Culture First and the relevant institutions had taken place before the period when the minister reportedly said he became aware of the company’s involvement.

“If the minister says that he is oblivious, he is unaware of any meeting or he’s unaware of Tribe Culture First’s involvement with NSA, he’s lying,” Assafuah said.
He maintained that the February email raised questions about the suggestion that Kofi Adams only learned about Tribe Culture First’s role around March or April 2026.
