It’s part of football – Thomas Partey breaks silence on Canada visa refusal

Black Stars deputy captain Thomas Partey says he is ready to return to action against England after missing Ghana’s opening World Cup match against Panama.
Partey was unavailable for Ghana’s 1-0 victory over Panama but has now rejoined the squad ahead of Tuesday’s important Group L clash with the Three Lions.
Speaking to reporters, the former Arsenal midfielder said it was disappointing to miss the first game but accepted that some things are outside a player’s control.
“Well, I think it’s part of football. Things happen in football that you cannot control. So, for me, now I feel okay and I’m ready to play.”
The 32-year-old could face England midfielder Declan Rice, who was his former teammate at Arsenal.
When asked about the challenge of playing against Rice and the England team, Partey praised their quality and said he was looking forward to the match.
“Yeah, I know it’s not going to be easy. Very good players, and I’m happy to really play against them.”
Partey’s return would be a big boost for coach Carlos Queiroz as Ghana aim to get a positive result against England.
Both Ghana and England have three points from their opening matches, and the winner of Tuesday’s game will move much closer to securing a place in the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Continue to More Sports.
