Chelsea ‘fight’ Arsenal for French midfielder

Chelsea could face competition from Arsenal for the signing of Roma midfielder Manu Kone, according to reports from Italy.

Corriere della Sera, through AllRoma.it, reports that both London clubs are interested in signing the France international.

Although Roma finished third last season and qualified for the Champions League, the club still needs to improve its finances to meet an agreement with UEFA after previous Financial Fair Play issues.

Because of this, Roma are hoping to make a major profit before the end of their financial year on June 30. As a result, they are willing to listen to offers for Kone.

Reports say Roma would be prepared to sell the midfielder if they receive an offer of around €50 million (£43 million).

Compared to the prices of other midfielders on the market, including Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, who has been linked with Chelsea, Kone could be seen as a more affordable option.

The Hand of Arsenal reports that Arsenal have already spoken with the player’s agent. However, Kone is only one of several midfielders being considered by the club.

At the moment, Arsenal do not appear to be close to completing a deal for the French midfielder.

It should also be noted that these reports are coming from Italy, and there is a possibility that Chelsea’s name is being mentioned to increase interest in the player as Roma look to raise money.

Chelsea are believed to be interested in strengthening their midfield, especially with uncertainty surrounding Enzo Fernandez’s future. However, that does not necessarily mean that Kone is one of their main transfer targets. Continue to More Transfer.
