Real Madrid are not keen on making an official move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez because of his high transfer price, according to AS in Spain.
The Spanish club recently completed the signing of Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella for 60 million euros. The transfer has already been confirmed.
Fernandez is interested in joining Real Madrid, but he is not one of the club’s main targets because of the large amount Chelsea are asking for.
Chelsea want at least 120 million euros for the former Benfica midfielder, and Real Madrid do not want to pay that much for him.
Instead, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has advised the club to try to sign West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, who could cost less.
AS reports that Fernandes could be available for around 80 million euros. However, Real Madrid will face competition from Manchester United for his signature.
