Manchester United could save a large amount of money if their former manager Ruben Amorim becomes the next head coach of AC Milan, according to Sky Sports.
United dismissed Amorim a few months ago and paid £15.9 million in compensation after his departure.
However, that amount could be reduced, possibly by several million pounds, if Amorim takes the AC Milan job.
The Portuguese coach is reportedly already in advanced talks with the Serie A club about becoming their new manager.
If Amorim is appointed by AC Milan, he could quickly come up against his former club, as Manchester United and AC Milan are scheduled to play each other during the upcoming pre-season.
The move would not only give Amorim a new challenge in Italy but could also provide Manchester United with a financial benefit by lowering the compensation costs linked to his departure.
