BREAKING: Cote d’Ivoire striker Elye Wahi denied entry into Canada ahead of Germany fixture
Elye Wahi has reportedly been denied entry into Canada ahead of Germany’s World Cup clash against Côte d’Ivoire on Saturday.
The 23-year-old forward is currently under investigation in France over alleged spot-fixing offences linked to a Ligue 1 match involving OGC Nice and FC Metz in May.

Authorities are examining suspicious betting activity after Wahi received a yellow card during the fixture. However, the striker has not been charged with any offence, and investigations remain ongoing.
Despite featuring in Ivory Coast’s 1-0 victory over Ecuador in their opening Group E match, Wahi will now be unavailable for the Elephants’ crucial encounter against Germany in Toronto.
His absence represents a significant setback for Côte d’Ivoire as they seek a positive result against one of the tournament favourites. Continue to More Sports.
