Panama striker Ismael Diaz has sent a strong message ahead of his country’s opening match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, saying his team is not afraid of any opponent and is ready to achieve something special.
The experienced forward believes Panama have the determination and confidence needed to compete against stronger teams, starting with their Group L opener against Ghana in Toronto.
When asked what Panama need to make history at the World Cup, Diaz gave a simple answer.
“We are very hungry,” he said.
