We will make you happy – Carlos Queiroz tell Ghanaians

Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz says his team is ready to make Ghanaians proud by winning as many matches as possible at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking at a farewell event before the team left for their base in Rhode Island, the Portuguese coach said he is confident in his players ahead of a difficult Group L that includes England, Croatia, and Panama.

“On behalf of my boys, I just can as a coach guarantee that when you finish the games, you would want to be proud of them; I am sure of that,” Queiroz said.

“The great goal that we have in mind… our duty and our goal is to make people happy, and the more you can make more people happy if you win, and we are ready to do that.”

Queiroz is going to the World Cup for the fifth time in his coaching career. He previously led Iran at several tournaments. Since being appointed Black Stars coach in April, he has had only a short time to prepare the team, but he believes they are ready.

Ghana will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto. They will then face England in Boston on June 23 and Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.

For Queiroz, the goal is clear: win matches, make people happy, and give Ghanaians a team they can be proud of.
