Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey may not play in Ghana’s first match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Panama, as ongoing legal proceedings have not yet decided if he will be available for selection.
The uncertainty comes after the Black Stars left the United States for Canada ahead of their Group L opening match on Wednesday.
Speaking about the situation, sports analyst Godfred Akoto Boafo said the ongoing court proceedings have made the player’s future with the national team uncertain. He added that the final decision could have a big effect on Ghana’s preparations for the tournament.
