Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign Marc Cucurella from Chelsea this summer.
The Spanish club decided to bring in the left-back after a request from new manager Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho has been working to strengthen his defence and has already added Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries to the Real Madrid squad.
Cucurella is now set to become the latest player to join the club as part of the changes at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on X on Sunday:
“EXCLUSIVE: Real Madrid reach verbal agreement to sign Marc Cucurella from Chelsea, HERE WE GO!
“Verbal agreement in place between all parties, player too — he’s the left back wanted by Mourinho. Details to follow.
“Cucurella leaves #CFC and joins Madrid after World Cup.”
The move means Cucurella is expected to leave Chelsea and join Real Madrid after the World Cup.
