Benjamin Asare, Jonas Adjetey benched: Black Stars announce starting XI against Colombia

Ghana have had an exciting journey at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, competing in Group L alongside favourites England, 2018 runners-up Croatia, and Panama.

In their opening match, the Black Stars secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over Panama, with Caleb Yirenkyi scoring a late winner in added time (90+5’).

They followed it up with a disciplined and organised performance against England, earning a hard-fought 0-0 draw despite England dominating possession and registering 19 shots.

In their final group game, Ghana fell 2-1 to Croatia, scoring once but ultimately unable to overturn the deficit against the experienced European side.

The results saw Ghana finish third in Group L with four points from three matches, enough to secure progression to the knockout stage.

Ghana will now face Colombia in the Round of 32, setting up a high-stakes encounter against one of the tournament’s most in-form teams. Continue to More Sports.
