Counter-Notice Procedure

Admin Checklist

  • Review each takedown notice for completeness and validity (author contact details, description of work, URL).
  • Verify that the claimant is the copyright owner or authorized agent.
  • If valid, promptly remove or disable access to the infringing material.
  • Document the date and details of the takedown and any correspondence.
  • If a counter-notice is received, forward it to the original claimant and possibly restore the content after 10-14 days if no legal action is taken.
  • Keep clear records of all DMCA notices and actions (including metadata like timestamps and document IDs) for legal compliance.
